Abstract – Molecular photoswitches isomerise into metastable states that store energy in the form of heat.

This harvesting of light is a promising way to convert its abundant energy and use it in different ways,

that will be discussed in two contexts for soft materials systems. In the first,

gels will be shown to be responsive to light when photoswitches are incoporated into them.

In the second, phase change materials including photoswitches that are activated by light will be discussed.

David B. Amabilino教授は、スペイン・バルセロナ材料科学研究所（ICMAB-CSIC）のResearch Professorであり、超分子化学・自己組織化材料分野を代表する研究者の一人です。これまでに200報以上の原著論文を発表されており、キラル分子集合体、超分子ポリマー、機能性自己組織化材料に関する研究で国際的に高い評価を受けています。また、Chem. Soc. Rev. をはじめとする著名誌に総説論文を多数執筆され、本分野の発展に大きく貢献されています。今回は、超分子自己組織化を利用した機能性分子材料に関する最新の研究についてご講演いただきます。多数のご来聴をお待ちしております。
