この度、JSPS（ホスト・京大中尾先生）で来日されるBlum博士の講演会を開催します。Blum 先生は、UC Berkeley の Bergman 研で学位を取得され、Harvard メディカルスクールの Walsh 研でポスドクの後、UC Irvine でキャリアをスタートさせ、昨年テニュアを取得した新進気鋭の女性研究者です。Pd と Au の協働触媒による新しい反応開発や、有機金種の後周期遷移金属へのトランスメタル化、触媒反応のイメージング研究など、大変ユニークな研究を展開されています。研究室ホームページの URL をお示しいたします：http://chem.ps.uci.edu/~blumlab/main.htm
Professor Suzan Blum received a Ph.D. from UC Berkeley (Supervisor: Prof. R. G. Bergman) in 2004. After three years of a NIH postdoctoral fellow at Harvard Medical School (Dr. Walsh), she started her carrier at UC Irvine. Last year, she got tenure to become an associate professor. Her recent research activities cover organic synthesis catalyzed by Pd-Au catalyst systems, reaction mechanisms of organogold complexes, and imaging of catalysis by electron microscopy. The latest topic was published in Nature Chemistry on Single-Molecule and -Particle Fluorescence Microscopy for Mechanistic Studies of Chemical Reactions.
